I have a Google Apps account and a regular Gmail account. I want to have Gmail notifier watch both inboxes. Is there a way to do this without merging my inboxes (e.g. forwarding the emails from one to the other?)

Hi Gretta - Great question. I have the same situation and I've found what works really great is to install the Gmail Notifier from here: http://toolbar.google.com/gmail-helper/notifier_windows.html

But also install the Google Talk client from here:

Install them both and use credentials for your personal gmail on the Gmial notifier and then your Google Apps credentials for the Google Talk client.

Just be sure that you tell Google Talk "NO!" when it asks you if you want to uninstall Gmail notifier.

P.S. if you are using ALWAYS USE HTTPS with your Gmail account, you need to install the Gmail HTTPS notifier patch: http://www.google.com/mail/help/downloads/notifier_https.zip

You should also try Spiffy. It lets you use up to 5 accounts.
